As cellular plans become more cost efficient through shared minute plans, and free cell to cell plans, many businesses and consumers are integrating Telular products into their setup. Connecting Telular products to business phone systems result in many advantages:

*      Lower costs

*      Take full advantage of mobile to mobile minutes by having office staff communicate with those in the field through the cellular connection

*      Take advantage of free long distance through a cellular connection

*      Automatic disaster response. Cellular dial tone would still be available if land lines go down

Many communication companies are integrating the Telular device as a trunk line in the pbx phone system when setting up a phone system. By adding the Telular device to the phone system you are still able to enjoy all the features of the phone system including call transfers, conference, on hold, etc.

Technical Notes:

*      Each SX5 is one ESN/SIM which equal one voice path

*      Analog dial tone through the two RJ-11 phone ports are wired parallel.  Each is 6 pins, pin 3 is RING and 4 is TIP.  Tip to Ring voltage is -48VDC, ringer equivalence is 5.0 A REN.

*      Digital PBX phones can not be used directly to the SX5/SX7

*      Due to digital cellular technology constraints there is slight distortions on DTMF (1-#) commands through the SX5T to the PBX.  Cellular networks were never designed to send these commands to a wireless handset because they were designed for the human voice. There are some adjustments that can be made to address this issue. There are also instances where the adjustments will not work to correct this issue. Most effected are auto attendant pbx phone systems and the navigation of voice mail systems. A work around for auto attendant phone systems is manual call handling.

Telular options:

SX5 products are voice/fax/low speed data capable

SX7T products are voice/fax/high speed 3G broadband capable
